Position: Cardiac Scientist
Location: Bowen Hills, QLD
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (3 days/week, with opportunity to transition to full-time)
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, interpret and complete preliminary reports on Holter Monitors
- Provide clinical support for ECGs and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors (ABPM)
- Provide support and troubleshooting to Area Managers, Collection Centre and Laboratory staff in relation to Cardiology Services
- Contribute to the timely release of patient results to doctors and specialists
- Support collection staff across the Practice with regards to the application and removal of cardiac monitoring devices
- Provide administration support to the Cardiology Services Team including, but not limited to, resource development, quality improvement initiatives and projects as required
What we are looking for
We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional with:
- A Bachelor’s degree (Australian Qualifications Framework Level 7) or Postgraduate qualification (AQF Level 8) in healthcare science with subjects specific to cardiac science, including cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, cardiac pharmacology, bioinstrumentation, and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) clinical placement, along with relevant post-graduate experience
- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and preliminary reporting of Holter Monitors and ECGs
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work and meet deadlines
- A high level of customer service skills for both internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to learn and work with Cardiology-specific applications
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
