Position: Scientist
Location: Bowen Hills, QLD - Blood Bank department
Employment Type: Full-time and part-time applicants will be considered
Key Responsibilities
- Performing a range of routine and advanced blood bank tests;
- Liaising with clients to ensure appropriate management of cases;
- Remotely assisting colleagues in regional laboratories to manage blood bank cases;
- Once fully trained, assist in corporate and/or local training programs;
- Upholding quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures;
- Complying with the occupational health and safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others in the workplace;
- Satisfying the requirements of customers, both internal and external, through the provision of reliable and efficient service levels; and
- With experience, opportunities will arise to assist management in local and corporate roles in areas including training, quality and education.
What we are looking for
As this is the blood bank referral site for Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, previous experience in a blood bank laboratory is essential.
Applicants must be flexible to work across day and evening shifts in a 7-day roster and, with experience, participate in the on-call roster.
