Position: Histopathology Scientist
Location: Cairns, QLD
Employment Type: Full-time, with shifts scheduled between 5:00 am and 9:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities
Applications are invited for an exciting full-time opportunity for a Histopathology Scientist in the Cairns Histopathology Laboratory.
The main aim of this varied role is to perform medical laboratory tests to provide advice for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and other disorders.
Duties will include:
- Specimen Reception;
- Embedding;
- Microtomy;
- General laboratory procedures involved in the preparation of histological specimens; and
- Dissection and processing of a wide variety of tissue types including simple, non-complex and complex specimens.
What we are looking for
A Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Techniques or other relevant qualification is required.
The ideal candidate will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as an effective team member. In addition, you will be exceptionally organised, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and perform duties with accuracy and efficiency.
