Position: Laboratory Scientists (Bowel Cancer Screening)
Location: Bowen Hills, Brisbane, QLD
Employment Type: Full-time - The laboratory operates Monday to Friday, between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM. Shifts are rostered within these hours; however, occasional extended hours or Saturday shifts may be required, depending on workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Receipting into the LIS, preparation for analysis and storage of Bowel Cancer Screening specimens
- Operation and management of automated instruments
- Verification and release of QC and test data, participation in laboratory QA programs
- Equipment QC and maintenance
- Troubleshooting problem Episodes
- Store ordering and stock control
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you'll have a relevant Degree or higher qualification in Science, Applied Science, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated theoretical knowledge in current FOB testing platforms, quality control/assurance in a laboratory setting
- Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and work methodically and efficiently, whilst adhering to occupational health and safety policies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Provide excellence in customer service
