Position: Preanalytical Supervisor 

Location: Highland Park, Gold Coast, QLD

Employment Type: Full-time - Hours to be covered are Monday to Friday, between 9am and 7pm.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibility will be to supervise the Highland Park Hub Preanalytical Team within the framework of the Sonic Core Values to ensure the delivery of an excellent pathology service.

Some of your core responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Co-ordination of the SRA operations to promote efficient and effective processing of pathology specimens 
• Effective team supervision of Preanalytical staff, ensuring compliance with all procedures
• Assisting with human resource functions including recruitment, inductions and performance management
• Adhering to occupational health and safety policies to safeguard both personal well-being and the safety of others in the workplace 
• Upholding quality standards by adhering to the Corporate Quality System Procedures

What we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience in a supervisory position in a diagnostic pathology laboratory
• A minimum of two years’ experience in specimen reception
• Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and a strong team focus
• Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
• Time management and organisational skills
• Strong Microsoft applications skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Commitment to high quality work and customer service
• Self-motivated with a high attention to detail, ability to be flexible, and a willingness to display initiative
