About Your Next Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Pathology Services Assistant to work in the Gold Coast Preanalytical Hub, located at Highland Park.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in a rotating roster that will cover the hours of 9.00 am to 7.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Participation in weekends (8.00 am to 4.00 pm) and public holiday shifts will also be required. 

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Specimen registration and processing;
  • Pre-analytical preparation and processing, including centrifuging and aliquoting of specimens;
  • Packing samples for transport, batching and dispatching;
  • Data entry;
  • Answering phone calls and assisting callers; and
  • Assisting in other areas of the department as required.

The role requires an enthusiastic attitude and an employment history that shows initiative, attention to detail and a proven ability to work in a busy environment. The successful applicant will possess knowledge of medical terminology, specimen processing, and data entry experience, as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. Experience with the Apollo LIS, specimen transport and/or laboratory operations will be an advantage.
