About the Opportunity

Applications are invited for a Multi-Discipline Scientist to join the Pindara Laboratory which is based within the Pindara Private Hospital on the Gold Coast. While we are seeking full-time positions, part-time may be considered for the right candidate.

The Pindara Hospital manages a wide range of services, including emergency and intensive care, coronary care, oncology, maternity, surgical, rehab and medical wards, offering the potential for a rewarding laboratory experience.

While the successful applicant would primarily be based within the Gold Coast North laboratories, you will be available to assist at the Gold Coast South laboratory and, as such, would need to be able to work as part of a rotating 24/7 roster, including public holidays.

Some of the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Performing a range of diagnostic tests in Haematology, Blood Bank, Biochemistry and Microbiology;
  • Performing all tasks relevant to a particular scientific shift or a particular section of the laboratory as specified in departmental manuals;
  • Upholding quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures;
  • Complying with the occupational health and safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety and the health of safety of others in the workplace; and
  • Satisfying the requirements of internal and external customers, through the provision of reliable and efficient service levels.

About You

The successful applicant must have an AIMS-accredited medical laboratory science degree covering Haematology, Blood Bank, Biochemistry and Microbiology disciplines.

Our ideal candidate will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and a strong team focus. Moreover, initiative and an enthusiasm to take on extra duties are required.

You will have high attention to detail and excellent organisational skills, allowing you to prioritise your workload and work accurately and efficiently while unsupervised.
