About Your Next Opportunity
Applications are invited for a full-time Team Leader for the PIndara Preanalytical Department, incorporating laboratory knowledge, working with the Laboratory Manager, Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
You will work Monday-Friday, shifts from 6 am - 9 pm. Some weekend, holiday and public holiday coverage may be required.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Coordination of the department, incoming work and provide feedback with regards to local operations to promote efficient and effective delivery, receipt and processing of pathology specimens
- Effective team supervision ensuring compliance with all procedures, integrating improvements where required
- Providing training to new staff, assisting in ongoing competency and providing feedback
- Complying to occupational health and safety policies to safeguard both personal well-being and the safety of others in the workplace
- Upholding quality standards by adhering to the Corporate Quality System Procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Knowledge of the Gold Coast region is desirable
- Proven experience in a diagnostic pathology laboratory
- Qualifications in Laboratory Techniques, Healthcare or Science desirable but not essential
- Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and a strong team focus
- Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
- Time management and organisational skills
- Strong Microsoft applications skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Commitment to high quality work and customer service
- Self-motivated with a high attention to detail, ability to be flexible, and a willingness to display initiative
