Applications are invited for the position of Laboratory Assistant in the Sterilising Department at Bowen Hills.
We now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team as a full-time Laboratory Assistant in the Sterilising Department of our Bowen Hills laboratory. Currents shifts may be 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, 6.30 am to 2.30 pm, 6.45 am to 2.45 pm or 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Shift start times depend on operational requirements and will be discussed at interview. On rare occasions some Saturday overtime maybe required.
The Sterilising Department is a central cleaning and sterilisation facility for glassware and labware used in the various scientific departments at the Bowen Hills Laboratory. The department is also responsible for the assembly of a range of specimen collection kits.

Prior laboratory experience is not essential but would be advantageous. Applicants holding a degree or higher tertiary qualifications will not be considered.
Whilst the primary role of the successful applicant will be in the Sterilising department there may be a requirement at times, depending on workload to assist in other departments (Microbiology or IFOB).
Such duties may include assisting with scanning and photocopying in the IFOBT Laboratory or assisting with various Laboratory assistant duties in the Microbiology department.
