Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has exciting opportunities for full-time Laboratory Scientists to work in the Cytogenetics Department at Bowen Hills, Brisbane.
The main aim of this varied role is to perform laboratory and associated functions.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will include:
A number of positions are available for the day shift (within usual business hours) and for the evening shift (typically 3 pm to 11 pm) on weekdays. Note that shifts may be variable, and could include participation in weekend rosters if/as required.
Applicants must hold a Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification. A background working within a diagnostic pathology laboratory or previous experience in the field of cytogenetics will be viewed favourably. Recently graduated scientists with no previous clinical laboratory experience are also encouraged to apply, with on the job training supplied.
The positions will suit enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals able to work with minimum supervision within a team environment. Applicants should possess excellent communication and organisational skills and a high level of commitment to accuracy of processing and laboratory turnaround times.
Applicants must have the ability to remain focused on tasks for extended periods whilst seated at a computer workstation and/or microscope, or whilst processing biological samples in a repetitive workflow.
