Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology serves the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour. They offer both routine and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.
About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has a fantastic opportunity for a vocationally registered General Practitioner to join their team on a casual basis in the Warfarin Care department. The hours of work are Monday from 12-3 pm and Thursday from 12-5 pm. It is expected that you will participate in a Saturday roster and have the flexibility to cover leave. You will be based at the Bowen Hills Laboratory in Brisbane, with the option to work from home after training.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing dose instructions for approximately 3,000 patients,
- Reviewing new patient enrolments,
- Performing consultations with patients,
- Liaising with referring doctors,
- Assisting administration staff with enquiries, and
- Actioning queues related to patient care.
Previous experience in warfarin management would be highly regarded. To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian-registered GP with Medical Indemnity Insurance. You should have a strong sense of empathy for patients and excellent communication skills. You must be able to function effectively both independently and as part of a professional, multi-disciplinary team.
