We now have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Multidisciplinary Laboratory Scientist to join our team based in Kawana Waters, working in shifts and servicing the Sunshine Coast region. The laboratory operates multiple shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM Monday to Sunday. As part of our collaborative team, you will need flexibility to cover all rostered shifts and participate in the overnight on-call roster on rotation.
Our Kawana Laboratory is located within a private hospital that services the greater Sunshine Coast community. We have a rewarding and cooperative team environment within our laboratory, and with the wider hospital staff.
In this highly varied role, you will perform medical laboratory tests to provide advice for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and other disorders.
Duties may include:
To thrive in this role, you will possess a relevant tertiary qualification in medical laboratory science or equivalent, with demonstrated knowledge of Haematology, Biochemistry, and Transfusion disciplines.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with strong scientific knowledge, and a comprehensive understanding of a pathology laboratory operations in conjunction with accreditation requirements, including knowledge of ISO 15189 NATA and NPAAC requirements. You will need to have a high level of interpersonal skills, high-level organisational skills and a commitment to customer service, and be able to display problem-solving ability and effective communication/interpersonal skills.
Moreover, you will have the ability to proactively work autonomously and within a team while focusing on providing timely and accurate results for our referrers within a busy regional laboratory.
