The Mackay Laboratory is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Rotational Laboratory Scientist to become an integral part of our thriving multidisciplinary laboratory. Located in the picturesque region of Mackay, Queensland, our laboratory operates 24 hours a day, providing essential services to the community.

Position Overview:

As a Rotational Laboratory Scientist at the Mackay Laboratory, you will have the opportunity to work across various departments, including Haematology, Biochemistry, Immunohaematology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. We are looking for candidates with a passion for laboratory science and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in medical laboratory science (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Haematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunohaematology and Biochemistry disciplines.
  • Be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a comprehensive understanding of pathology laboratory operations and accreditation requirements.
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Have the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, delivering timely and accurate results in a busy regional laboratory.
  • Display strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

The pay rate and category for this position will be commensurate with the skill level and experience of the successful applicant.

This role involves participation in a 24/7 rotational shift roster, and we are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic individual to contribute to our collaborative team.
