About the Opportunity 

Applications are invited for experienced Scientists/Technicians for full-time positions in the Histopathology department. Applicants with prior experience in dissection, embedding, or microtomy will be highly regarded and are encouraged to apply.  

We offer flexible scheduling options and are open to discussing shift preferences to accommodate the availability of our experienced candidates. 

The dissection positions will perform the cut-up and preparation of non-complex specimens, and candidates are being sought for a variety of shifts. The main laboratory positions involve the embedding and microtomy of specimens to fill a variety of shift times throughout the day and afternoon. 

Core duties:  

• Dissection: cut up and prepare non-complex specimens  
• Main laboratory: embed and perform microtomy of specimens  
• Immunohistochemistry: prepare slides for staining on automated stainers, QC slides, perform special stains

To qualify, you will possess a Degree in Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), a Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or other relevant qualifications.  

The ideal candidate will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and will be exceptionally organised, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and perform duties with accuracy and efficiency.
