About the Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Laboratory Assistant in the Microbiology Department of our Bowen Hills laboratory. Shift times are 6:00am - 2:00pm, or 10:00am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday on weekly rotation. A minimum of 6 shifts per fortnight is required, and participation in a weekend and public holiday roster.

Prior laboratory experience particularly in a microbiology laboratory or in microbiology laboratory techniques will be advantageous.
The successful applicant will also ideally have:

• demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team
• demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and work methodically and efficiently, whilst adhering to occupational health and safety policies
• demonstrated ability to provide excellence in customer service
• the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• the ability to become an effective team member and have a positive influence on other staff.
• a sound knowledge of computers and software.
• a commitment to Sonic Core values and an understanding of ethical considerations.
