About Your Next Opportunity

We now have exciting opportunities for full-time Pathology Services Assistants to join the SRA Preanalytical team in our Bowen Hills laboratory. This is a night shift role, working 5:00pm - 00:30am. We provide services Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 00:30 am, Saturday from 8:30 am to 11:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Please note that participation in the Saturday and public holiday rosters are expected. 

Responsibilities include:

• Specimen registration, data entry and processing
• Unpacking, receipting and distribution of specimens – you may be required to be on your feet for long periods of time and lift/carry eskies
• Delivery of specimens to laboratory departments
• Loading of samples onto automated equipment
• Preanalytical preparation and processing, including centrifuging and aliquoting of specimens

This role does entail manual handling and on some shifts, you will be required to be on your feet for the majority of your shift.

In this role, you will be enthusiastic, possess good communication and organisational skills, and will have the ability to work as part of a busy and multi-tasked team. Crucial to your success is a high level of commitment to customer service, laboratory turnaround times and accuracy of processing.
