About the Opportunity
Applications are invited for full time and part-time Pathology Service Assistants to join the Bowen Hills SRA Preanalytical Team
Suitable applicants should be enthusiastic, possess good communication and organisational skills and have the ability to work as part of a busy and multi-tasked team. A high level of commitment to customer service, laboratory turnaround times and accuracy of processing is required.
Your key responsibility will be:
- Specimen registration, data entry and processing;
- Unpacking, receipting and distribution of specimens – you may be required to be on your feet for long periods of time and lift/carry eskies;
- Delivery of specimens to laboratory departments;
- Loading of samples on to automated equipment; and
- Preanalytical preparation and processing including centrifuging and aliquoting of specimens.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven keyboard skills;
- Proven ability to work as part of a professional team in a fast-paced environment;
- The ability to work unsupervised; and
- Proven commitment to the provision of quality customer service.
Most importantly, you will have the flexibility to work a range of shift times. The Department provides services Monday to Friday 08:30am to 00:30am, Saturday 08:30am to 11:00pm and Sunday 10:00am to 08:00pm
Participation in the Saturday and public holiday rosters is expected.
