About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Pathology Specimen Collector to join their Pathology Team in Ballina. Initial training is at the main procedural centre in Lismore before permanent rostering between our collection centres at Ballina. Hours are between 07.00 and 18.00, Monday - Friday, with participation in the Saturday roster.
The primary task of this role is to take blood samples from patients.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will be:
- Providing quality care for our patients in the community;
- Treating our patients with care and compassion;
- Receiving urine and faeces samples;
- Recording patient information;
- Completing online training via our eLearning training system; and
- Liaising with referrers and ancillary services in a community setting.
About You
The successful applicant must be meticulous, efficient, able to work alone or as part of a team, and have a demonstrable history of attention to detail and customer service.
Candidates who have a relevant qualification (Certificate III or IV in Pathology Specimen Collection) will be held in high regard. In addition, you will have a First Aid Certificate, driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Candidates with venipuncture experience will also be looked upon favourably.
Successful candidates will embark on a comprehensive training course during their first twelve months of employment. Upon completion of training, candidates receive an SNP training certificate.
