About Your Next Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has an opportunity for a full-time, multi-skilled Scientist to work at our laboratory based at the Wesley Private Hospital, Auchenflower, Brisbane. Applicants must be flexible to work across day and night shifts in a seven day per week roster.
Perform medical laboratory tests to provide advice to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases and other disorders. You will gain competency in haematology, coagulation, transfusion, biochemistry, and microbiology.
Core duties:
- Perform a range of diagnostic medical laboratory techniques
- Perform all tasks relevant to a particular scientific shift or a particular section of the laboratory as specified in departmental manuals
- Uphold quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures
- Comply with the occupational health and safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety, and the health of safety of others in the workplace
- Satisfy the requirements of customers both internal and external through the provision of reliable and efficient service levels
About You
The successful candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in medical laboratory science or equivalent, with demonstrated knowledge of Haematology, Coagulation, Biochemistry, Immunohaematology and Microbiology disciplines.
You will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who possesses a comprehensive understanding of pathology laboratory operations in addition to a high level of interpersonal communication skills, organisational skills and a commitment to customer service.
You will also have the ability to work autonomously and within a team, exercising problem-solving skills while providing timely and accurate results.
