Now is your chance to take on a rewarding opportunity as a Facility Services Supervisor working in the Essential Services Department in a convenient Bowen Hills location!

Working with a team of other staff in the Essential Services Department, you will be acting as 2IC to the Essential Services Manager.  Your coordination of property maintenance for laboratories and collection centres in the Greater Brisbane Region is of critical importance to Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology continuing to respond to the pathology needs of the communities that we operate in. 

Your typical day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Troubleshooting and coordinating installation and repairs for all laboratories and collection centres;
  • Ensuring all contractors are inducted and signed in when working at the main laboratory campus;
  • Ensuring maintenance requests are logged into the database; and
  • Ensuring that services contact details are current within the department and an updated copy is provided to the switch staff 
  • Be an integral contributor with innovations and changes to facilities, from planning, design and execution through cost control and safe execution and implementation.

What will you bring?

To be successful you will bring your expertise ideally from a technical background such as mechanical engineering, building trades and/or maintenance. This role will also suit candidates with a property maintenance, trades or construction background. You will have an intermediate knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and/or the Revit drafting Suite. Candidates who have a tertiary qualification in Engineering or another trades/maintenance qualification will be at a distinct advantage.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience in and/or exposure to a facilities management environment, ideally with an understanding of building management control systems and Australian building codes and standards. 

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and a high level of corporate professionalism will be key to your success in this role, as you will be regularly communicating with SNP specialist teams and external stakeholders. You will be competent in the Microsoft Office suite and have the ability to work effectively in a small team.

Importantly, you will have a positive and proactive attitude, with a hands-on approach to your work and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a demanding, fast-moving environment. 

Please note, this is not a maintenance or handy-person position where you will be physically responsible for the upkeep of the laboratory and collection centres. Rather, this is an office-based role and you will be coordinating this work.
