Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and offers both routine testing and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Supervising Scientist in the Blood Bank department of their Bowen Hills laboratory.
Reporting to the Blood Bank Management Team, your chief responsibility will be to supervise the day to day operations of the laboratory within the framework of the SNP core values to ensure delivery of an excellent pathology service.
Applicants must be flexible to work as required across day and evening shifts in a 7-day roster, and participate in an on-call roster primarily in a support role for internal and external staff/clients.
As this is the blood bank referral site for Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, previous experience in a blood bank laboratory is essential.
To be considered for this position you will be degree qualified in Medical Laboratory Science or similar from a recognised tertiary institution, with specific experience gained in transfusion and an advanced knowledge of blood bank techniques.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, well-developed communication skills, an enthusiastic and flexible approach to the work environment and good organisational skills will be key to your success in this role. Previous experience in a Blood Bank laboratory is essential. Importantly, you will have a positive and proactive attitude, and be enthusiastic and self-motivated.
