About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has an opportunity for a Flexible Part-Time Pathology Specimen Collector to join their Pathology Collection team in Stanthorpe.
Your primary responsibility will be taking blood samples from patients and maintaining positive relationships with external clients, GP's, and Medical Centre staff.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will be to:
- Provide quality patient care for our patients in care facilities;
- Treat our patients with care and compassion;
- Receive urine and faeces samples;
- Record patient information; and
- Complete online training via our eLearning training system.
You will work across various areas and must be available to work a variety of shift rotations between the hours of 7:00am and 3:00pm Monday to Friday (60 hours per fortnight).
To be considered for this position you must:
- Be able to provide relief for sick leave and holidays of other staff;
- Have proven excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Be able to prioritise;
- Have good time management skills;
- Be comfortable working as a sole collector or in a team with remote supervision;
- Portray a positive image and a professional approach to work; and
- Be prepared to enhance your skill base if you do not already have the advanced skills required for this position.
Venepuncture skills are preferred but not mandatory.
Please Note: You will need a current driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and current first-aid certificate.

An attractive hourly rate, circa $22.84, will be on offer for the successful candidate. Hospital collectors are eligible for progression to a Level 5 rate of pay ($27.99) and are also eligible for penalty rates for weekend, public holiday and some after-hours shifts.
