Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology are seeking a full-time Employee Relations Officer to join their team based in Bowen Hills, Brisbane. 

Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will be responsible for supporting staff at all levels to understand their obligations and responsibilities in the workplace so as to not discriminate or harass others, and to handle any complaints about discrimination or harassment.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Investigate EEO complaints/grievances and manage the complaint resolution process;
  • Design and implement EEO programs to facilitate legislative compliance;
  • Evaluate the success of EEO policies and identify areas needing improvement;
  • Develop, conduct and lead training programs aimed at preventing harassment and discrimination; 
  • Provide information about available support services and act as the main contact for the Employee Assistance Program;
  • Design and implement natural justice and procedural fairness policies;
  • Develop, conduct and lead training programs aimed at ensuring compliance with natural justice and procedural fairness; and
  • Evaluate the success of natural justice and procedural fairness policies.

About You

What do you need to be successful in the role?

The successful candidate will have experience in resolving workplace discrimination and harassment type matters, as well as working knowledge of legislation and best practice standards related to EEO matters.

A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Law, Business or similar fields would be well regarded. A knowledge of or interest in Privacy and/or data protection regulations is also desirable for this role.

This position would suit a candidate with a high level of communication skills, display strong empathy, and have the ability to handle complex, sensitive issues. 

Please note: Occasional travel will be required, therefore a valid Australian Driver Licence is a requirement for this position.
