Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour.
About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has a part-time opportunity for a flexible Pathology Specimen Collector to join their Cairns team.
Based out of the Mareeba collection centre and Atherton collection centre some Saturdays; your primary responsibility will be taking blood samples from patients.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will be to:
- Treat our patients with care and compassion;
- Receive urine and faeces samples;
- Record patient information;
- Complete online training via our eLearning training system; and
Availability and flexibility are important aspects of a collection role with SNP. You will be required to work between the Mareeba and Atherton collection centres, and must be available to work shift rotations between the hours of 7am and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday and participate in a rotating Saturday roster at the Atherton centre. Some weekday shifts at Atherton may also be required.
About You
The successful candidate will have neat and professional presentation, effective written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility to cover shifts at short notice. You must also be able to work independently as well as the ability to adhere to strict protocols and guidelines. A First Aid Certificate is a mandatory prerequisite.
Candidates with pathology specimen collection experience will be held in high regard, although this is not essential. Successful candidates will embark on a comprehensive training course during their first twelve months of employment. Upon completion of training, candidates receive an SNP training certificate.
