About the Opportunity
Applications are invited for exciting opportunities as a Scientist to work full time evening / overnight shifts in the Histopathology Department at Bowen Hills.
The main aim of these varied roles is to perform medical laboratory tests to provide advice for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and other disorders. Depending on the role, duties will include (but will not limited to):
- Surgical dissection;
- Embedding;
- Microtomy; and
- General laboratory procedures involved in the preparation of histological specimens.
The laboratory operates 24 hours, so this role will involve covering a variety of evening and overnight shifts with the ability to change hours as required. Histopathology is therefore seeking flexible and enthusiastic individuals. Please note, however the organisation is committed to ensuring a healthy work/life balance for all staff.
A degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Applied Science or other relevant qualification is a must. Experience will be highly regarded, but not essential for the right candidate. The ideal candidates will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as an effective team member.
