About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Laboratory Scientist to work from the Lismore Laboratory within St Vincents Private Hospital in Lismore, NSW.
The main aim of this varied role is to perform laboratory and associated functions.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will include:
- Preparation, analysis and reporting of routine and urgent haematology, biochemistry and endocrinology specimens;
- Blood grouping, antibody screening and cross matching
- Stat microscopy; and
- General laboratory duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you'll have excellent communication and customer service skills as well as a high attention to detail to enable maximum accuracy of processing. You will possess a strong commitment to laboratory turnaround times and the ability to perform as a multi-skilled medical scientist. Experience in some or all of haematology, biochemistry, Blood Bank, microbiology, and histology is a requirement for this role.
This is a perfect role for an enthusiastic individual who has a flexible approach to their work as you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekend and on-call hours. You'll also have the ability to work both autonomously and as a team member in this busy department.
