About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Laboratory Scientist/Technician to join the Microbiology department of their Bowen Hills laboratory. You will be required to work the early morning shift, which is currently 12am - 5:30am Tuesday - Saturday (penalty rates and shift allowances will apply). Some training during the day may be required.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Appropriate qualifications in medical laboratory science (or equivalent).
- A theoretical knowledge of current microbiology testing practices.
- Laboratory experience in a microbiology laboratory particularly in the area of microscopy, blood culture processing and urine analysis.
- Experience in the use and operation of current instruments, equipment and automated analysers.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and also as an effective member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and work methodically and efficiently, whilst adhering to occupational health and safety policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide excellence in customer service.
