About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a flexible part-time Pathology Specimen Collector to join their Cairns team.
A variety of shifts exist between 6 am and 9 pm, so the flexibility to work between these hours is a must for the successful candidate. Participation in a rotating Saturday roster and occasional on-call work is also required.
The primary task of this role is to take blood samples from patients.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will be:
- Providing quality care for our patients in the community;
- Treating our patients with care and compassion;
- Receiving urine and faeces samples;
- Recording patient information;
- Completing online training via our eLearning training system; and
- Liaising with referrers and ancillary services in a community setting.
Applicants must have well developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient care and customer service. The successful candidate will have a neat and professional presentation, effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
Experience in venipuncture is preferable but not essential.
Please Note: A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle are requirements of this role.
