Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is one of the largest pathology practices in Australia, providing comprehensive services to patients and doctors throughout Queensland and New South Wales, employing more than 2000 people.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist/Technician to work full-time in their Microbiology department, based in Bowen Hills.
The main aim of this varied role is to perform a wide variety of microbiological specimen processing, organism identification and sensitivity techniques.
You'll be required to work, once trained, a variety of weekday shifts which are currently between the hours of 5am and 7pm as well as some rostered weekend, public holidays and on-call work.

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant degree or diploma with a focus on Microbiology from a recognised tertiary institution.
While not essential, candidates with prior experience in microbiology techniques, in particular culture plate reading, will be highly regarded.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a demonstrated ability to prioritise your workload and work accurately and efficiently. You will also possess a strong commitment to laboratory turnaround times and the ability to perform extended periods of microscopic analysis.
The high level of service provided by Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is delivered by a dedicated staff comprising of pathologists, scientists, technicians, laboratory assistants, collection personnel, couriers, computer personnel, pathology services assistants and other support staff. The successful candidate will join a welcoming team, many of whom have stayed with the organisation for a number of years.
