Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is one of the largest pathology practices in Australia, providing comprehensive services to patients and doctors over a geographic area throughout Queensland and New South Wales and employing more than 2000 people.

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and provides a range of cardiac investigation & diagnostic services including Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring, Holter Monitoring and ECGs.

About the Opportunity 

Sullivan Nicolaides now has an exciting opportunity for a Histology Scientist to join their Toowoomba Laboratory on a full-time basis. Shifts will vary between 5:00am and 8pm.

The main aim of this varied role is to perform medical laboratory tests to provide advice for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and other disorders.

Duties may include:

  • Specimen reception
  • Embedding
  • Microtomy
  • General laboratory procedures involved in the preparation of histological specimens
  • Progression towards learning dissection and processing of a wide variety of tissue types including simple, non-complex and complex specimens will occur over time.

Applicants should possess an appropriate degree/diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Diploma in Clinical Laboratory Techniques or other relevant qualification. Previous experience is preferred but not essential.

The ideal candidate will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as an effective team member. You should also have excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and work accurately and efficiently.
