About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Scientist to join the Histopathology department of their Cairns laboratory. Shifts range between 5am - 9:30pm Monday to Friday, with the department supported by 3 on-site anatomical pathologists.
The main aim of these varied roles is to perform medical laboratory tests to provide advice for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and other disorders. Duties will include:
- Dissection;
- Embedding;
- Microtomy;
- Specimen reception; and
- Other responsibilities are required.
A tertiary qualification in Science, Applied Science or other relevant area is essential. Experience will be highly regarded, but individuals in the final stage of their studies and due to graduate this year are encouraged to apply.
You will need well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as an effective team member. Highly organised, you will also demonstrate the ability to prioritise your workload, completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
