Working a 24/7 roster at our Bowen Hills Laboratory, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology’s multi-skilled customer service team is like no other. The high level of service provided by this team is delivered by dedicated staff, some who have worked in this role for many years and are committed to providing excellent service to all of our customers. 

During business hours, the team are located in main reception where they greet and assist visitors attending the laboratory while also answering incoming calls to the practice.

Outside of normal business hours, the team works from an alternate location within the laboratory and assists many other departments to efficiently provide professional care to our patients, referring doctors and staff.

Some key responsibilities of this position will be to:

  • Manage various tasks across all hours of the day including but not limited to emergency coordination, issuing of patient results, monitoring of security systems & laboratory equipment, receipting, sorting and distribution of pathology samples, data processing, reception coordination and courier dispatch;
  • Satisfy the requirements of internal and external customers through the provision of reliable and efficient customer service; and
  • Build professional working relationships with colleagues across all of Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology’s laboratories.

About You

Necessary Attributes:

  • Confidence in face to face or over the phone communication
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service
  • The ability to work within a rotating 24/7 roster which will include working shifts every weekend and participation in a public holiday roster
  • The ability to cover sick and annual leave as required
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical solutions calmly and efficiently in difficult situations
  • Moderate to advanced computer literacy with the ability to confidently and efficiently navigate through multiple computer programs
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing learning
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in multi-tasking

Desirable Attributes:

  • Previous experience in pathology or healthcare
  • Previous experience with facility services
  • Previous experience in the coordination of emergency situations
  • Previous experience in first aid and/or fire warden duties
  • Previous experience working on a busy switchboard or handling high volumes of incoming calls

Initial training will incorporate 2 full time weeks followed by a rotating roster which will include shifts every weekend.
