About the Opportunity
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a flexible part-time Pathology Specimen Collector to join their Pathology team in the Coffs Harbour region of NSW.
The primary task of this role is to take blood samples from patients.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will be:
- Providing quality care for our patients in our community rooms, in nursing homes and in hospital;
- Treating our patients with care and compassion;
- Receiving urine and faeces samples;
- Recording patient information;
- Completing online training via our eLearning training system; and
- Liaising with referrers and ancillary services in a hospital setting.
The successful applicant must be meticulous, efficient, able to work alone or as part of a team, and have a demonstrable history of attention to detail and customer service.
Applicants should be suitably qualified with experience in venipuncture, in addition to intermediate computer skills. Although not essential, experience within a hospital environment will be highly regarded.
You must hold a First Aid Certificate, driver's license, have access to a reliable vehicle, and be able to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 07:00 and 19.00, with participation in the Saturday roster.

An attractive hourly rate will be offered to each successful applicant. Hospital collectors are eligible for progression to a Level 5 rate of pay and are also eligible for penalty rates for weekend, public holiday and some after-hours shifts.
