Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and offers both routine testing and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.

About the Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology now has 3 x opportunities for full-time, multi-skilled Scientists to work at our laboratories based at the Wesley and Greenslopes/Ipswich Hospitals. Applicants must be flexible to work across day and night shifts in a 7 day per week roster. 

The main aim of the role is to perform medical laboratory tests to provide advice for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and other disorders, with a specific focus on haematology and transfusion. 

Some of the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Performing a range of diagnostic medical laboratory techniques;
  • Performing all tasks relevant to a particular scientific shift or a particular section of the laboratory as specified in departmental manuals;
  • Upholding quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures;
  • Complying with the occupational health and safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety, and the health of safety of others in the workplace; and
  • Satisfying the requirements of customers both internal and external through the provision of reliable and efficient service levels.

About You

To be considered for these positions you will be degree qualified in Medical Laboratory Science or similar, with specific experience gained in both haemotology and transfusion. Recent graduates are welcome to apply, so long as they have studied both of these areas as part of their degree.

Importantly, you will have the demonstrated ability to work methodically and accurately, whilst prioritising your workload. You will be organised, have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team.

A competitive salary package is on offer circa $61,929-$89,148, based on the level of skills and experience you are bringing to the role. Generous loading is also available up to 75% for night shifts, 35% for early evening and early morning shifts; and double time and a half for public holidays.
