Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is one of the largest pathology practices in Australia, providing comprehensive services to patients and doctors over a geographic area throughout Queensland and New South Wales and employing more than 2000 people.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and offers both routine testing and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology currently has an opportunity for a full-time Laboratory Assistant or multiple part-time Laboratory Assistants covering week nights and occassional weekend shifts within the Molecular Pathology Department of the Bowen Hills Laboratory.
After training has been provided, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
You will be required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to prioritise your workload and complete your work tasks accurately and efficiently. You will also possess a strong commitment to laboratory turnaround times, a high attention to detail and strong customer service skills. Importantly, you'll be a self-motivated and effective worker, whether undertaking tasks autonomously or as part of a team, and consistently display accuracy in the processing and recording of results.
Routine hours of duty for this position are weeknights Monday through Friday. Weeknight rostered shift times currently vary between 5pm-0.30am and 7.00pm-2.30am (5pm, 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm starting times).
You will be required to participate in the weekend shift pool – rostered as one shift on a Saturday or Sunday - as well as participation in the occasional (1 in 6) rostered weekend pool for Sunday shifts.
